 Ben is a Maryland-based entrepreneur and retired military leader with more than 20 years of government and private-sector experience. As the owner of Orion Procurement Agency and Valor Strategic Ventures, and Executive Director of the nonprofit Send Me Outdoors, he brings a unique blend of operational expertise, business development acumen, and mission-driven leadership.  Ben’s career began with two decades of distinguished service in the United States Air Force, where he held various roles conducting and supporting critical national missions around the world. He led teams ranging in size from small tactical units to divisions of over 200 personnel, managing programs, operations, and high-stakes missions across strategic, operational, and tactical levels. His service, which included multiple overseas deployments, honed his skills in leadership, crisis management, analysis, and organizational growth.  Following his military retirement, Ben transitioned into the private sector where he has applied his expertise to both corporate and nonprofit ventures. At Orion Procurement Agency, he leverages his background in program integration, analysis, and business operations to guide restoration firms through the complex process of government contracting. His focus is on simplifying the path from insurance-based restoration work to sustainable success in the public sector, ensuring clients are equipped with compliant, competitive, and strategically positioned bids.  In addition to his work in government procurement, Ben is deeply committed to the veteran community. As Executive Director of Send Me Outdoors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, he leads initiatives that enhance the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of veterans through outdoor-based programs. His leadership reflects a lifelong passion for the outdoors, community building, and creating spaces where service members can find camaraderie and growth after their time in uniform.  Today, Ben continues to drive impact at the intersection of restoration industry expertise, government contracting, and veteran advocacy, bringing his diverse background and mission-oriented leadership to every endeavor.
